stallholder sneak peek - She Sells Sea Glass

The ultimate in recyling and probably the most beautiful too.Debbie's amazing range of handcrafted sea glass jewellery started life as shards of broken bottles as many as 70 years ago. Tumbled by the waves and ground against pebbles, rocks and sand, the sea glass that Debbie uses is all natural, untreated and collected from Tasmanian beaches. We imagine that there will be a lot of sea glass under Christmas trees this year!

stallholder sneak peek - notions

It would be a big ask to sum up the work of Rosalie at Notions in one word, but if one was forced to have a go, darling would probably be the closest bet and divine wouldn't be far wrong either.

Amazing attention to detail and packaging that's almost as adorable as the goodies themselves are what set Rosalie's work apart from her competitors.

Just quietly we think her Christmas range is going to be a big hit. What do you reckon?

stallholder sneak peek - shalldesign

Sue Hall thinks she was random before it became fashionable.

She is embarking on a full time career in design in 2010 and plans to embrace wedding flowers, interior design, furniture design, clothing and accessories and whatever else takes her fancy. So her products reflect her eclecticism.

"Re-purposing" is the weird new word that seems to suit Sue's approach to design.

She will have a sample of her furniture - the Provenance range - to show at the market. She has sewn cushions using her grandma's doilies in a surprising way; she has made jewellery using Meccano washers, dominoes, zips, scrabble tiles and safety pins; there are Bond's singlets with a twist; and there are darling and ridiculous baby's bibs.

Everything is made with love and a sense of humour.

Tuesday, October 6, 2009

wow!

The response to handmadehobart so far has been overwhelming, we've had applications from a talented bunch of lasses and seem to have generated a lot of interest which is fantastic.

Applications are open for another 3 weeks or so now, so please, if you're thinking about it, drop us an email and we'll get some more info and an application form out to you.

So far, we've had no applications from any bakers or soap-makers/cosmeticians, so if you know of anyone - let them know about us and see if they're interested.

Oh and BTW, we're on facebook - the link is on the sidebar. Pop in for a visit and invite your friends.
